Tinggol Island
Tinggol Island (or Tenggol Island) is located off the coast of Terengganu, Malaysia.
Tinggol Island offers camping facilities, island hopping, jungle trekking, wildlife watching, marine-life watching, abseiling, rock-climbing, fishing, diving, snorkelling and other activities.
The South China Sea surrounds this tropical island paradise and Tinggol Island is famous for its stunning diving sites. There are around 20 diving sites surrounding this island, each one with its unique sights and experience. The diving sites of Tinggol Island are popular for beginner divers and expert divers alike. There are wrecks, calm coral gardens and a variety of marine life to explore and see. Expert divers can test their skills in deeper waters with stronger currents whereas beginners can enjoy the sereniy and beauty of the coral reefs.
A ferry service from the jetty of Kuala Dungun is one of the ways to reach this island. It will take you 60 minutes from Dungun jetty to Tinggol Island.
If you are staying at the Tanjung Jara Beach Resort in Dungun, they also offer boat trips to Tinggol Island but you must be a guest at the Tanjung Jara Beach Resort to make use of this service.
