A visit to Pahang, one of the east coast states in Malaysia won't be complete without a trip to Cherating Beach. Cherating Beach (Pantai Cherating) is located nearly 40km north of Kuantan town.
The beach is clean and there are many seaside chalets, resorts and shops lining the road to Cherating beach. There is also a turtle sanctuary near the area.
Local boys love to body-surf at Cherating Beach as the waves are quite strong and suitable for this activity.
Cherating Cultural Complex
The Cherating Cultural Complex is a place where you can witness Malaysian traditional activities such as weaving, batik-making, blow-pipe (sumpit) demonstration, play 'congkak' (a Malay 'board' game) and ride a trishaw.

There is an Equestrian Club just before you see the Cherating Beach. The horses can be seen from the roadside and if you're lucky, you might even meet a horse and its rider on the Beach itself.
